Pakistan to launch satellite 'PakTES-1A' next month

Pakistan is set to launch PakTES-1A, an indigenously developed remote sensing satellite (RSS) in July 2018, Foreign Office Spokesman Dr Muhmmad Faisal said on Sunday. From concept till launch, Pakistan Technology Evaluation Satellite (PakTES-1A) is a fully designed and developed by the scientists and engineers of Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO)



In 2016, Pakistan and China had signed an agreement for the launch of a RSS in 2018. The agreement was done for the purpose of monitoring the development of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects. In march 2018, Pakistan had marked a great milestone in space technology by availing a geostationary orbital slot along with increasing foothold in the space world.
